Retailer trusts Vector Security Networks with intrusion and fire alarm monitoring.

Since 1983, Gabe’s discount stores has turned to Vector Security Networks (then known as the National Accounts Division of Vector Security) to protect their business. In fact, Gabe’s is one of the oldest — if not the oldest — relationship for the one-source provider of physical security and managed network services.

Today, Vector Security Networks provides intrusion alarms for Gabe’s 125 retail stores in 14 states, as well as its corporate headquarters in Morgantown, Virginia, and five distribution centers including a new 850,000 square-foot facility in Springfield, Ohio. Each Gabe’s retail store location averages 50,000 square feet.

In some locations, Vector Security Networks also provides fire alarm monitoring and video installations.

John Goldyn, VP of Loss Prevention for Gabe’s, credits the long-standing relationship to high-touch customer service, a partnership approach, and robust reporting capabilities, calling Vector Security Networks “one of the best solutions providers” he has worked with.

John considers the Vector Security Networks team, led by Sr. National Accounts Manager Rich Raney, part of his own advisory team. He values the bi-weekly meetings and quarterly updates where they discuss new challenges, ideas and solutions.

One of the benefits John appreciates most is Vector Security Networks’ proprietary Insite® alarm management platform that allows him to monitor and obtain snapshots of alarm activities at any site. This information proves to be helpful for training new store teams, improving internal operations and processes, maintenance and service, and helping to stop significant findings before they can escalate.

And the partnership seems to go both ways. A few years ago, when Vector Security Networks relaunched Insite® with improved features and functionality, John provided input as to what additions he thought would be helpful.

“The Vector Security Networks team has always been supportive,” he said. “It’s never been a sales pitch effort with them. They truly are our partner and are there to work with us to provide the best solutions we need every step of the way.”
