The first line of defense from cyber attacks starts at the “edge” of your network?

A firewall helps protect an organization’s network traffic by blocking malicious content and other external threats. On the edge of a network, a firewall acts as that first line of defense, making them invaluable to a network’s protection.

What a Firewall Provides

A firewall helps safeguard sensitive company data from outside intrusion. It can grow with a company as they evolve and as the technology landscape changes, which helps keep a network secure even as new cyber threats emerge.

But that’s not all. Other benefits include:
  • Better Visibility: Have access to real-time business information within a network across an entire enterprise.
  • Better Network Monitoring: A firewall keep networks protected by filtering all the data going in and out of the system, allowing IT personnel to better manage the network.
  • Greater Privacy: A firewall proactively works to keep employee and customer data safe, providing a first line of defense that helps build a privacy environment everybody can trust. But it’s only one key component in a company’s privacy network.
Ultimately, a firewall helps protect the endpoint from unwanted network traffic. When companies focus on protecting the edge, they can better prevent malicious content from getting into the system.
